The area of North Lewisham is strongly segregated by use due to its industrial past as well as the area being sliced into pieces by the tangled railway infrastructure.

To the north of the Trundley’s Road site beyond the railway lies an area of Victorian terraces that surround Deptford Park, extending towards Surrey Quays.
To the south of the site is an area of post-war blocks of flats and terraced houses, spreading all the way to New Cross Road.

The sites in the midst of the railways to the east and west of the site tend to be industrial/commercial warehouses.
